Last time I looked, it had a different label here in the US. Maybe someone here will blog it too.

Jeanne

Hi Sam
I guess it's possible that they bottled under a different label in the US... I know the Goats Do Roam label here and in SA in quite different - it looks rather a lot like a Cotes du Rhone style of label, while the Goats do Roam in Villages looks very African & very different. Will be interesting to see if anyone else blogs it - it's just such a great story & a clever pun!

Pim

Wow, this is quite a post. I've heard of the Goats do roam and Goats roti, but never tried them. Now I might have to.

Thanks for playing with us!

That was fascinating - and most amusing. I shall have to dash out and buy a bottle. Which places stock it? My tryout for tomorrow is a malbec from Argentinia, the first organic wine I've tried. It should be interesting.

Jeanne

Hi Pim
No, thank YOU for the cool theme! I had a great deal of fun and got to drink some wine I hadn't tried before!

Hi CHristina
It's a fun story, isn't it? If you buy some, I woudl probably recomment Goats do Roam as opposed to the GDR in Villages, as I prefer it. But maybe the same won't hold true for you? I bought this bottle at Tesco and I'm sure I've seen it at Sainsbury's, although not the last time we were there. I think I've also seen them in Oddbins. Can't rememeber about ASDA.
Hmm, Argentine Malbec - my new absolute favourite! Pls tell us what you had as I'm always on the lookout for nice Malbecs...

Lenn

Hi Jeanne...I can't find your email address (in my outlook or on your blog!)

Email me :) You're up for next month ;)

Christina

OK, thanks for the tip.
Sadly I can't say I was blown away by the Malbec. Drinkable but by no means noteworthy.

I stumbled onto your blog/review while looking up information on the "Goats Do Roam" wine, and thoroughly enjoyed your writing, review and the story of how this wine got it's name! I think the wine is really good, and finally got curious enough about the silly name to look it up. Very enjoyable wine and story!
