After our fruitless attempt to get into the beer tents (they were all full because of the rain) we found a great alternative - the Ayingerkeller across the road from the Hofbrauhaus. Authentic atmosphere, friendly service and you actually stand a chance of getting a seat! Oh yes, and rather nice beer too...
